I went to Las Vegas a few months ago for a conference. This was my first conference presenting a paper I wrote! I also spent the weekend beforehand exploring, so it was a very productive trip.

1. The pool at the Waldorf Astoria 🌊
2. Hattie B’s Nashville chicken 🍟
3. Exploring the strip ☀️
4-6. Moments at the Bellagio 🌸
7-8. The flamingo night vs. day 🦩

Michigan is the most underrated fall destination 🍂

I spent last weekend exploring West and Northern Michigan on a solo road trip!

In 4 days I visited:
-Muskegon
-Ludington
-Manistee
-Traverse City
-The Leelanau Peninsula and Leland
-Charlevoix
-Boyne City
-Petoskey
-Saginaw

It was definitely a busy 4 days, but it was totally worth it.

I thought doing this trip would help me check off a lot of places on my Michigan bucket list, but I think I’ve added more places than I checked off!

Can anyone else relate to this? 😅

4 reasons fall is the best time to go kayaking ⬇ 4 reasons fall is the best time to go kayaking ⬇️

I finally went kayaking in Ann Arbor, something that’s been on my bucket list since moving to Michigan! This turned out to be one of my all-time favorite kayaking trips and I’m pretty sure it’s because of the time of year.

Here’s why kayaking in the fall is a game changer:

1. Fewer bugs 🦟
I usually get eaten up my mosquitoes when I’m near the water. But this time there were hardly any bugs! Fall is a great time to go kayaking if you’re tired of getting eaten alive while on the water.

2. Less crowded 👥
Fall isn’t your typical kayaking season, which means fewer people. It felt like I had the whole river to myself. It was so peaceful and quiet.

3. Cooler weather 🪭
No more baking in the heat! The cooler temperatures made it way more enjoyable. Just don’t fall in 🥶

4. Fall scenery 🍁
This one speaks for itself. The fall colors are gorgeous!

Have you ever kayaked in the fall? 🍂

A very Michigan fall break 🍁 I spent the past A very Michigan fall break 🍁

I spent the past four days exploring west and northern Michigan for fall break on a solo road trip!

There were so many places I wanted to visit in this area of the state, so I decided to get on the road for a few days to explore 🚙

I made a loop starting on the west coast in Muskegon, then up to Ludington and Manistee, and ending the first day in Traverse City.

Next, I explored Traverse City then went up to the Leelanau Peninsula before making my way up to Petoskey for the next two nights.

I went to Boyne Mountain and drove through the tunnel of trees, before driving home (with a couple more stops along the way).

It was colder than expected, but the fall colors made it worth it. Now, time to catch up on work 🫠

6 photos from Badlands National Park 📸 This na 6 photos from Badlands National Park 📸

This national park was one of the most surprising ones I’ve visited!

I had no expectations going into this trip of what it would be like in South Dakota… but I was absolutely blown away 🤯

The landscapes were different than anything I’d seen before and not what I would have thought!

While I was there it was raining on and off, but the moody skies made for some cool photos 🌥️

I didn’t see much wildlife aside from some prairie dogs and a bighorn sheep while I was driving 🐏

It wasn’t too busy and there was ample parking when I visited. Visiting while the sky is looking a bit sketchy is such a hack to get trails mostly to yourself!

A solo day trip to Jackson, Wyoming (with time sta A solo day trip to Jackson, Wyoming (with time stamps)

This was my first trip to Jackson by myself. I went last summer with a group of people but I didn’t have a chance to do any hiking.

I woke up around 5am to get Grand Teton National park while it was still early, and I was able to find parking when I got to the parking lot after 8am.

Staying in Jackson is quite expensive, but it’s definitely possible to do a day trip from Idaho!

Idaho Falls is a great home base for lots of adventures and day trips.

This was a long day, but totally worth it for the experience.

Life lately ☀️ I’ve been back in Michigan f Life lately ☀️

I’ve been back in Michigan for about a month and a half at this point, but I’m very behind on sharing my adventures from the summer.

Honestly, I thought I’d have more time once I got back to Michigan to put together reels and blog posts from the summer. But I’ve been more busy than I thought I’d be working on grad school stuff 😅

I have thousands of videos and photos to go through which is quite an overwhelming task. It’s a good problem to have, but a problem nonetheless.

In the past week, I’ve also planned 3 more trips over the next few months 🫣 this includes one road trip and two international trips ✈️

I’m still figuring out how to organize and post content from all the adventures. But in the meantime, here’s what I’ve been up to on the weekends. I’ve been staying in the metro Detroit area doing local activities!

🐈‍⬛ New cat friend on a walk
🍳 Tried the Egg Bar in Dearborn, MI
🍁 Canada building in Windsor, ON
🍟 Some delicious poutine in Windsor
